EVERARD READ AT FNB ART JOBURG

Everard Read is excited to present at the annual FNB Art Joburg

Everard Read returns to FNB Art Joburg this year with a thoughtful selection of artists from across the continent. This annual gathering has firmly anchored Johannesburg’s social calendar as a moment to showcase, and celebrate, the very best of contemporary African art.

The fair will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre from Friday 5 – Sunday 7 September 2025, with Everard Read joining a dynamic roster of galleries from across Africa. The weekend will also feature curated tours, panel discussions, and other engaging activities for visitors.

Powerful new sculptures by Angus Taylor will anchor the gallery’s presentation in the fair’s MAX section. Visitors can also look forward to a sculptural installation by internationally acclaimed artist Mary Sibande, who continues her exploration of identity and transformation through her iconic alter ego, Sophie.

Painter Katlego Twala from Botswana makes her debut with Everard Read, bringing a fresh and vibrant voice to the line-up. Lucinda Mudge will unveil exquisite ceramics, while Boytchie’s abstract canvases and Ricky Dyaloyi’s intuitively layered paintings promise to immerse viewers in rich worlds of colour and form.

The presentation also features work by artists such as Gerhard Marx, Blessing Ngobeni, Deborah Bell, Atang Tshikare, Teresa Firmino, Sanell Aggenbach, Willem Boshoff, Talia Ramkilawan and Mmakgabo Helen Sebidi, to name a few.  

Bringing together emerging voices and established masters, Everard Read’s 2025 presentation offers a compelling snapshot of the innovation, skill, and cultural resonance that define contemporary African art today. The gallery’s stand will invite visitors not only to engage with remarkable works of art but also to experience the conversations and ideas shaping the future of the continent’s creative landscape.
